Ephesians 6:12-13

One of my favorite things that I loved to do when I was younger was to watch wrestling and to imitate the men that came on every Monday night and Friday morning…

Wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Brett the Hitman Heart, The Bushwhackers, Undertaker, and Dusty Rhodes…

These men tussled and toiled to be the last man standing, and be the one that will have their hands raised at the end of the match.

They both came to the ring with the mind to win, to conquer, to defeat, to overcome, to triumph, and to succeed, no matter the time it took, the pain inflicted, no matter that blood that was going to be shed, no matter the bruises that will come after, they wanted to win!  Men that could lift the average man without ease, and some that can push cars from one place to another, they came in the ring ready to engage in a battle that was determined by who can pin the other into submission.

The ones that competed were not always the same size, but they were willing to face the challenge in front of them…

We must know that all of us are wrestling with something, wrestling with our weight, wrestling with our appearance whether you are pretty or not, wrestling with our faith and the uncertainty of life, wrestling with being rejected in the job interview, or rejected by our parents and we don’t know why.  We must know that scripture reminds us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12). So in life, we must keep pressing and never lose hope, because the reward that God has for us is not given to the strong or swift, but to the one that can endure until the end!
